Thanks to my friend Eli Harari who co-founded SanDisk, (the company that first commercialized memory cards for cameras) I took hundreds of photos as I travelled around this magical city. Here are just a few photos from my final days before returning to London.
These old Venetian palaces served as both homes and offices for the wealthy merchant families, functioning as a combined residence, warehouse, and business headquarters.
Today, they are used as museums, offices, apartments, hotels, and government buildings.
Sadly, as noted elsewhere, many of the residences are now vacant as families have moved
away from the city.
